Night Owls vs. Early Birds

I imagine since the invention of the light bulb, there have been family battles over whether one should go to bed early or stay up late; sleep in or get up with the first chirp of the birds. For obvious reasons, before the advent of electricity, humans used the sun for its light and were forced to be productive during the daylight hours.
